FAQ
Before You Choose a Growing Tower
Is Tower Garden hydroponic or aeroponic?
Tower Garden is an aeroponic growing system. Many shoppers searching for a “hydroponic tower” want the same basic outcome—a vertical, soil-free way to grow with water and nutrients—but Tower Garden uses an aeroponic delivery method.
What is the difference between Tower Garden FLEX and HOME?
FLEX holds up to 20 plants, uses a 20-gallon reservoir, occupies about 5 sq ft and can be expanded. HOME holds up to 32 plants, uses a 13-gallon reservoir, occupies about 3 sq ft and includes wheels.
How many plants can Tower Garden grow?
FLEX supports up to 20 plants. HOME supports up to 32 planting positions. The Family Tower Garden package reaches up to 84 planting ports across three FLEX towers.
How much space does Tower Garden need?
Tower Garden lists HOME at about 3 sq ft and FLEX at about 5 sq ft. Bushier crops such as tomatoes may need additional clearance around the tower.
Can Tower Garden be used indoors?
Yes. Both FLEX and HOME can be used indoors, but Tower Garden recommends LED grow lights when natural light is not sufficient, especially for year-round indoor growing.
What can I grow in Tower Garden?
Examples include leafy greens, peas, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and flowers. Tower Garden notes that woody-stemmed/root-style crops, grapevines, bushes and trees are not a good fit.
What comes with a Tower Garden system?
The core systems include the growing tower, reservoir, pump, timer, seed-starting supplies, net pots, Mineral Blend plant food and pH testing/adjustment supplies. HOME also includes a water monitor and wheels.
Do I need a support cage?
Not for every crop. A support cage is most useful for taller, climbing or heavier fruiting crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and beans.
